While so many good things happened at the conference, the following three highlights stood out.
1. “Henderson: A Gig City”
The most exciting thing was the exposure garnered from a video produced by Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The video featured 8th Day Software and the national success we’re experiencing from our Domestic Solutions Center in Henderson.
Check out the video here.
2. Exhibitor’s Hall
We hosted a booth in the exhibitor’s hall where we met with a lot of conference attendees. We answered questions about who we are and what we do.
Many expressed great interest and excitement about our company’s mission—to be the preferred alternative to offshore development by offering world class, cost effective solutions from small towns in Tennessee.
3. Informative Sessions
The conference sessions included many examples of the great success and momentum the state of Tennessee is enjoying in attracting new businesses to the region. More and more companies, domestic and international, are choosing Tennessee as the state they want to call home. Here are a few reasons why:
- Lowest state debt per capita in the country1
- Second lowest in the U.S. for taxes paid per capita2
- Triple-A rated state3
- Tennessee grew at an annual rate of 2.1% in 2015, faster than the national growth rate of 1.9%4
- Private sector employment increased 2.6% in 20155
We left even more excited to be a part of Team Tennessee, even as we expand our capabilities with a new Domestic Solutions Center in Winchester, Tennessee.
